Planet Fitness Celebrates its roots

An international chain of fitness gyms, which began in Dover, hosted a celebration Wednesday, Sept. 13, which served two purposes: the grand re-opening of the Dover facility and the company’s 25th anniversary. In 1992, two brothers opened their enterprise in the Garrison City, calling it Planet Fitness. It became a local success and in succeeding years became established as one of the largest and fastest growing franchises and operators of fitness centers in the United States.
