Power Lunch: The Words We Choose | October 18, 2017

October 18th
12:00 – 1:00

The Words We Choose

“Watch your thoughts, they become words; watch your words, they become actions; watch your actions, they become habits; watch your habits, they become character; watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

FRANK OUTLAW Late President of the Bi-Lo Stores

The words we choose to use have power.  They project an energy that changes everything around us.  They also betray our thoughts and command our actions.

In this Power Lunch you will learn:

  • How words can create success or failure,
  • Why sarcasm is not your friend,
  • Why positive affirmations don’t work,
  • Why you should spend more time asking, ‘What If?’,
  • How to listen for words and phrases in an interview that will tell you whether you have the right candidate or not.

The words we choose to use, along with the thoughts that generated them, truly do determine your destiny.

By learning to understand how powerful they are, we can change our thoughts and our words to become the success we truly want and deserve to be.

Join Speaker, Author, and Business Coach Matt Randall for a Power Lunch at the One Hundred Club on Wednesday, October 18, at noon where he will explore the words we choose and how they may be used more effectively to give us:
  • More success in business
  • Help you become a better leader
  • Better relationships with our family and friends
  • A happier and more satisfying life

Just a few of the comments from coaching clients and students in his courses:

However, one of the most valuable things you do is show people the way to believe in themselves by empowering everyone to excel to the best of his or her abilities. Your philosophy creates a wonderful environment that has a very positive effect on people.  I see it and feel it every time I walk through the door. ~Donna Haskins

Last Friday, Matt Randall, spoke to our class about self-discipline.  He challenged the children to always work for a 10 (on a scale of 1-10) in their work, listening skills, self-control, etc.  So many choices we have are actually up to the individual (like facing forward in group, using neat handwriting, completing work in a timely manner, being an active listener, refraining from speaking unless called on, and so on), and this is a visual anyone can use to rate themselves immediately.  I only wish I had heard his presentation at the beginning of the school year, as we would have incorporated it in everything we do here.  Thanks, Mr. Randall! ~Mrs. Schnepf, 2nd Grade

Your meeting with me was very helpful.  I have put together many lists, and have been organizing my time by marking things off my lists and goal sheets.  I am making a lot of progress.  I hope your business is doing well and anyone that I come across looking for business advice I will happily refer them to you. ~Melissa Aho
